Content Summary

This study investigates whether living in a rural area affects the development of depressive symptoms in older adults. The analysis of data from the Manitoba Study of Health and Aging found no significant association between rural residence and depression. However, factors such as female gender and poor self-rated health were predictors of depressive symptoms in rural areas.
